In the middle of my seventh year at Vice, I decided it was time Vice built an operational infrastructure that actually made sense for Vice. After months of pitching to our exec team, I was given the green light and successfully coordinated with critical teams that were excluded from the previous PMO iteration and launched “Business Tech Ops” (BTO) with a town hall-style meeting.
BTO's portfolio includes more than 400 projects across 15 workstreams, all prioritized with timelines in Wrike and visualizations in Domo to give Vice its most comprehensive look at an internal operations roadmap. We also rolled out Box, Slack and a new intake process to help facilitate collaboration.
